Starting this AY 2020-21, Filminera Mining Resources will sponsor four Mining Engineering majors for two years (junior and senior years). The Philippine Gold Processing and Refining Corporation will also support two Metallurgical Engineering and two Mechanical Engineering students who are in their final two years. Both student support packages include thesis grants and board exam review assistance. The book allowance will also be rechanneled for internet connectivity support in light of the remote learning setup in UP. We thank our member and Filminera Vice President and Resident Manager Pedro Remoto for the generous support of Filminera and PGPRC. Back in January, Filminera also set up a professorial chair in engineering.
Huawei adds to our roster of study grant donors with their commitment to provide six graduating students with monthly stipends and book allowances.
The James Dyson Foundation of Singapore will provide five thesis support grants and project funding for five projects run by UP Engineering organizations. Discussions started back in 2016 when James Dyson built its plant in the First Philippines Industrial Park in Laguna and we are grateful to this fruitful partnership for UP Engineering.
