The 2020 UPC will have the final judging of ten projects on November 16, with virtual presentations made by the project proponents. Five are vying for the Design Category, and five for the Research Category. These are the finalists from over 80 projects submitted for review.

The cash awards and staging expenses are sponsored by Dr. Francis Chua, IE ’71, a UPERDFI member who started the Dr. Francis Chua Innovation Awards in the 2019 UPC.

The UPC Committee is headed by Prof. Gerald Jo Denoga, Associate Dean for Research. The panel of judges include Dr. Beatrice Ang, a medical practitioner; Dr. Ariel Blanco, GE Professor and Deputy Director of the UP National Engineering Center; and UPERDFI Trustees Chicho Mantaring and Val Reyes. The winners will be announced during the 2020 UPCOE Recognition Rites on Nov. 25.

Edit: The UPCOE Recognition Rites has been moved to December 6, 2020.
