UPERDFI member Chito Calingo departed on October 3, leaving behind a legacy of achievement in the academe and in the field of productivity and quality management. Graduating with the UP BS Industrial Engineering Class of 1975, he went on to pursue MS and PhD studies in the US. He established a name in the global quality movement, being a Malcolm Baldridge Quality Expert. He helped set up the Philippine Quality Awards in the mid-90s. After several years being Provost and then president of a University in California, he came back in 2015 to  assume the presidency of the Holy Angel University in Pampanga. There, he led the multi-campus school to soar in various disciplines.

He continued to offer his services to UP and other Philippine universities in their quests for academic excellence and organizational productivity.
