Prof. Ferdinand G. Manegdeg completed his term as Dean from September 2019 until August 2022. In a turnover ceremony held on August 31, he handed over the reins of the College to Dr. Ma. Antonia N. Tanchuling.

Dean Ferdie is a professor of Mechanical Engineering, who joined the Faculty soon after receiving his ME degree from UP in 1979. He took up graduate studies in the United Kingdom and in the USA. He led the College through the pandemic period, a time of challenge as UP implemented the online learning format. He reached the mandatory retirement age in July 2022. As Dean, he was the concurrent Executive Director of the UP National Engineering Center, and an ex-officio Trustee of UPERDFI.

Dean Tonette, a professor in Civil Engineering, joined the Faculty in 1988 with her CE degree from UP. She was in her second term as the Director of the Institute of Civil Engineering. Receiving her graduate degree in Japan, her focus area is environmental engineering.

After a job well done, we wish Dean Ferdie a great time and much luck in any endeavor that he will choose to pursue.

For Dean Tonette, we assure her of our full support in leading the College, and the National Engineering Center, towards continuing a regime of honor, excellence, and service! Being the dean, she takes over the Trustee position in the UPERDFI Board effective September 1, 2022.
