 University of the Philippines Vice President for Planning and Finance Dr. Lisa Grace Bersales has been appointed to assume the position of Executive Director of the Commission on Population and Development (POPCOM) under the National Economic Development Agency, effective January 16, 2023. This is her second position in the Philippine Government, having been the first Director General of the Philippine Statistics Authority when it was set up to replace the National Statistics Office in 2013. At that time, she was seconded from UP, leaving her VP position. She returned to UP in 2019 after her 6-year term at PSA as a VP for Planning and Finance. She was appointed by Pres. Danilo Concepcion to be the UP System representative to UPERDFI, an ex-officio seat in the Board of Trustees. She chaired UPERDFI’s Audit Committee. We wish for Dr. Lisa a fruitful term in the POPCOM! |
