In a ceremony hosted by our Adviser Sid Consunji at the Manila Polo Club on September 21, the MOA for the BPI-UPAE Student Loan Facility was signed! This happened after almostĀ  two years of carefully crafting the design of the loan facility.

Signatories were BPI Senior VPs Ma. Teresa Marcial and Alma Aldip, and UPAE President and UPERDFI Trustee Vic Ahorro And Treasurer Winston Sumalia.

The BPI Student Loan Facility carries an interest burden, unlike the existing UPAE Study Now Pay Later (SNPL) Program. This new facility will enable more students to avail of financial support, and be introduced to the benefits and responsibilities of credit financing.

In his remarks, Sid encouraged everyone to have the new product be promoted among students. He will continue to support UPAE efforts in building the Loan Guaranty Fund.

In attendance were UPERDFI past Chairman Jeng Pascual and DMCI CFO Jobert Legasto, who took active parts in developing the loan features. UPERDFI assisted in the build-up of the Guaranty Fund, which was undertaken in the past three years, under the lead of past presidents Joey Gomez and Manfred Guangko. Dean Tonette Tanchuling, UPERDFI Chairman Lito Bermudo and ED Tito Aliga and several UPAE Directors were also present.

The BPI Team came in full force also, citing that this is a pioneering BPI product that is tailored for students!
