A simple Book Turnover Ceremony of the Cesar A. Buenaventura Collection was recently held at the UP Diliman College of Engineering Library.

An engineer by training, Mr. Cesar A. Buenaventura earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines and later obtained his master’s degree in civil engineering abroad. He went on to build a distinguished career and returned to serve his alma mater as a member of the UP Board of Regents. In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the profession, he was honored by the Professional Regulation Commission as an Outstanding Professional in Engineering and was named among UP’s Top 100 Engineering Alumni during the University’s Centennial Celebration.

Representing the Buenaventura family, his widow, Mrs. Bambina Buenaventura, formally turned over the collection to the library. More than a donation of books, the collection stands as a testament to Mr. Buenaventura’s lifelong commitment to engineering excellence, learning, and service—an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations of students, faculty, and researchers.

Receiving the book collection was UP Diliman COE Dean Tonette Tanchuling. Also present were UPERDFI President Lito Bermudo and Executive Director Tito Aliga.
