Andrew Jacob Buensalido and Alyson Cabrestante, both graduates of UP Diliman, have been named the 2026 Philippine national winners of the James Dyson Award for their project BiDaKidney. The low-cost, semi-automated peritoneal dialysis machine aims to make home-based treatment simpler, safer, and more accessible for Filipino patients.
Cabrestante (R), a 2025 Mechanical Engineering graduate, is also a recipient of the Jose and Fae Albano Scholarship.
